Alive Photo vs Canva: bring a photo to life or design with it?
Canva and Alive Photo both work with photos and video, but they do very different jobs. Canva is for designing, Alive Photo is for making the person in a photo move. Here is how they compare and how to use them together.

What each one does
Canva is a design tool: posts, invitations, presentations and simple videos from templates. Its “Animate” feature makes text and images slide, fade or bounce, but the people in the photo stay still. Alive Photo does one thing: it makes the person in the photo move naturally, so they smile, blink and turn their head while still looking like themselves.
Price: subscription vs one-time payment
Canva has a free plan, and most AI features sit in Canva Pro, which costs $18 per month, or $144 per year. With Alive Photo you pay $2.99 once per video, with no account and no subscription.
Use them together
Many people animate a photo with Alive Photo and then drop the video into a Canva design, for example a birthday invitation, a memorial slideshow or a post. Each tool does what it is best at.
